In this crazy time of turbulence and change in the world of photography, I think it is very important to keep an eye on, and maybe a pinch, a variety of contracts. A market that the Internet seems to be open to photographers to anyone, at least on the surface anyway, the market consists of consumers, people who want to buy paintings as products.

I define this as the graphic work on any anything with a photo printed on it, like coffee mugs, greeting cards, mouse pads, calendars, etc..

What I found so far is that this is not necessarily an easy market to penetrate. With my collection of "Animal Antics" pictures, pictures of cats, dogs and other animals anthropomorphic poses and situations, I thought the process would be simple. I just have to put my photos on cafepress.com and rake in sales. Why is that things seldom work as planned?

The first thing I miscalculated the amount of work that was images sites like CafePress. A curious picture of a cat that really works well on the mouse pad does not always fit well in a coffee cup. An image that fits in a cup of coffee is probably not going too well to fit in a newspaper. You get the picture.

Not only that, but you have all kinds of products you need to decide if you want to include. Things like "Flip Minos" and bowls for dogs. Then you have items such as t-shirts and sweatshirts that do not print information also. Is it better to include all products that you can limit your selection or products that really work well on images?

I decided that is better, unless, indeed, in fact, is the first. I have all kinds of products, shirts, golf shirts and fun, and others who do not work on all well with my photos. I remain ready to solve this problem ... but, well, you know .... Decisions, decisions!
